Today was the first day of the second annual Circle Craft Summer Market, and every vendor had to set up in the morning rain. Rainy day outdoor events can be hit-and-miss, but today was my only chance, so I made the trek across town.
| The first friend I ran into was the lovely Minori Takagi. I got these earrings from her last week, and wore them to the market. They got a few compliments today. Minori's work is elegant and clean, and goes with everything. |  Minori Takagi |
 Clayburn Copperworks | I had never met the artist of Clayburn Copperworks before, but when I saw these I knew I had to have one. They are so on point with my own work, nature-themed mixed media. I love the warm colours of the copper and the simple but effective design. |
| Next I found Jennifer Blair of Urban Fusions. Jen was wearing a blue pair of these which made her eyes pop and caught my eye immediately. I had to have my own in my favourite colour. Jen also has more intricate designs with beautiful nature scenes. |  Urban Fusions |
 Amanda Parker | I was pleasantly surprised to see Amanda Parker at the market. I didn't know she was in town. Her work is subtle and quiet, and draws you in for a closer look. |
| Last was Grace Lee of eikcam! I already have a plate and 3 birds in this style, and I decided it was time to add one more piece. The texture of the clay, the lush red, and the simple line drawing all make Grace's work irresistible. |  eikcam |
The market was busier than I expected for Thursday at 11, and it will only get busier over the weekend. Many of the vendors have square readers, so they can accept credit card in addition to cash. Unlike the Circle Craft Christmas Market, the summer one's free admission, but the quality of work is equivalent. The Summer Market is smaller, and although the booths are closer than in the Christmas Market, they are well laid out and don't feel crowded. I am so glad I went, it was great to recognise so many vendors and see so many beautiful designs. Definitely recommend checking it out!
